We are excited about giving back to Jacksonville

The Bryant Community Heroes program honors ordinary people doing extraordinary things in local communities. Those selected receive a new high efficiency air conditioning system with installation provided by Charlie’s Tropic Heating & Air Conditioning Jacksonville’s Premier Bryant Dealer.

Since Charlie’s Tropic Heating and Air is a locally owned and operated business, we knew participating in this annual program sponsored by Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems was a must for our team. With deep ties to the community, we jumped at the opportunity to take part in this program to recognize a resident in our vicinity who is making a difference. We know that people do great things every day in the Jacksonville area and enjoy having the chance to highlight these individuals.

A Bryant True Hero is someone who goes above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of others. There are many people whose occupations allow them to impact others daily, however, a True Hero is someone who takes it a step further. For example, this could be a third-grade teacher who is not only great at her job, but also spends her weekends mentoring at-risk students in urban neighborhoods; or, a war veteran who helps his neighbor rebuild after a house fire. Just as Bryant contractors like Charlie’s Tropic Heating and Air do “whatever it takes” for their customers, True Heroes do whatever it takes for their communities.

Whether it’s a first responder, a teacher, or just a great asset to our community – Charlie’s Tropic wants to hear their story. Family, friends and neighbors are invited to nominate a True Hero now through October 26, 2018.

Too often people fall victim to air conditioning breakdowns at the most inconvenient times. Charlie’s Tropic would love nothing more than to take this burden away from a True Hero so that they can continue to use their time to serve others. While we may not have the means to provide air conditioning to everyone in need, there’s no better place to start than by recognizing someone who is usually the one providing the help themselves.

Charlie’s Tropic is honored and excited to be able to share its expertise in home comfort by providing a new Bryant air conditioning system to a deserving member of the Jacksonville community.

Here are some examples of potential True Hero candidates:

  • People who voluntarily teach: Sunday school, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts
  • People who voluntarily coach: little league, soccer, football
  • Other volunteers: Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, Homeless shelters
  • People who assist the elderly
  • People who help their neighbors

To be nominated:

  • Be 18 or older
  • Be a resident of Jacksonville
  • Have done something beyond what is normally expected
  • Have a measurable or significant impact on the community (e.g. not just one person)
  • Be of good character
