HVAC Service Technician

As an HVAC Service Technician, you’ll be responsible for providing high-quality repairs of customers’ products, including Heat Pumps, Heating Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems in a timely manner. Service Technicians are also responsible for promoting and selling additional products and services to increase the profitability of the company as a result of your firm commitment to exceptional customer service.

Lead Installer

In the role of a lead HVAC Installation Technician, you’ll need an in-depth understanding of the procedures and techniques necessary to design, install, replace, and remodel HVAC systems in both residential and commercial applications. You’ll also be required to perform a range of other duties in the HVAC service trade based on the specific circumstances of each new installation project. Thus, you may need a wider range of skills, including the ability to perform multi-disciplinary tasks, in order to complete an HVAC installation for our customers.

Install Helper

As an HVAC installation helper, you’ll be required to assist an installer or the lead installer with residential and commercial HVAC equipment and accessory installation projects. You’ll work under the direct supervision of installers and lead installers, helping you gain tremendous hands-on experience. Our team is always looking for candidates with residential HVAC installation experience who are knowledgeable, organized, on-time, and looking to further their careers in the HVAC industry.

HVAC Sales Manager

HVAC Sales Managers are responsible for discovering new customers and exploring new potential markets while maintaining established relationships with our existing customers. You’ll be required to have an in-depth understanding of our products and services as you enhance our customer retention strategies and demonstrate exceptional skills at sales, customer service, and presenting a positive image for our brand.

In this role, you’ll also be responsible for creating new customer accounts, developing those accounts, increasing sales productivity, and asset management. Sales Managers should be equipped with the skills to generate repeat business through exceptional account management practices.

Requirements:

Applicants for the HVAC Sales Manager position should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in air conditioning system sales and design, including heat load calculation, duct and pipe design, equipment selection, refrigeration cycle, and HVAC system cost estimation.

Commercial Technician

Commercial Technicians are skilled individuals with a history of Supervisory and Leadership experience along with superb communication skills and customer service expertise. Applicants for the position must be highly organized and capable of multitasking. You should feel comfortable maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of air handling, exhaust systems, fluid flow equipment, ductwork, and other components associated with industrial and commercial heating and air conditioning systems.

Air Duct Cleaning Technician

As an Air Duct Cleaning Technician, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining all air duct cleaning equipment for the company. You’ll need to routinely access, remove, and clean air distribution components and equipment. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for selling ancillary products and services alongside performing duct cleaning services. Air Duct Cleaning Technicians will prepare all job-related paperwork and maintain and organized and fully stocked Company vehicle.

ACCA/CF Apprenticeship Program

In partnership with the Air Conditioning Contractors Association (ACCA) of Central Florida, Charlie’s Tropic Heating & Air is proud to provide an apprenticeship program for new hires. You’ll receive on the job training that enables you to grow together with the company and establish valuable relationships with our management and ownership. Additionally, all apprenticeship program fees are paid by the company – that means we’re committed to providing you with an unparalleled opportunity for your future.

Apprenticeship Information

  • Jacksonville Program tentative launch September 2023
  • Apprentices are provided a set of work tools as defined by the Apprenticeship Committee
  • Apprentices who qualify for the CareerSource Program receive the Program textbook at no extra cost
  • All first-year apprentices must attend orientation events and bring valid IDs and certification cards
  • All first-year apprentices must register with Employ Florida prior to orientation
  • Program lasts for 3 years = 3 years of job stability
  • Apprentices receive CPR/First Aid, EPA, HVAC Excellence, and NATE Certification
  • Fees paid by your employer
