Longtime customers of Charlie’s Tropic Heating & Air Conditioning know what it feels like to place a cry for help to our office. That is a good day at Charlie’s Tropic Heating & Air Conditioning. Representing the efficient, reliable and courteous service has made us one of the leading air conditioner companies in Florida.
While nothing matters more to us than our customers’ satisfaction, we now know what places second: Acclaim from a third party, which we received last week when Feedspot named our blog one of the “Top 100 Air Conditioning Blogs and Websites for HVAC Contractors” in the United States.
Charlie Marks “humbled” by national acclaim
After nearly 20 years in business, there are precious few events that can render founder Charlie Marks speechless. Being notified of the award was one of them, especially because the company did not seek the award or enter a competition for it. It came as a complete surprise.
“We would have been delighted with a state award, but a national award? We’re positively overjoyed,” Marks said. “We’re busting our buttons with pride here at Charlie’s, but we’re humbled beyond words, too.”
Marks says his customers deserve most of the credit
Marks was quick to credit his customers for the award, saying that they provide the inspiration for the twice-monthly blog articles. The blog teems with maintenance tips so that homeowners can keep their air conditioner running smoothly and efficiently. While the blog emphasizes air conditioner maintenance, it also features articles on topics such as improving indoor air quality, sealing air leaks, hurricane preparedness and reducing energy costs. These are articles that Charlie’s customers can put to practical use immediately after reading them.
“Our blog and website, like everything we do here at Charlie’s, is motivated by helping our customers,” Marks said. “They are the focus of all our efforts.”
Marks also credits his daughter, CEO Amy O’Grady – for “expertly” managing the website and blog.
“It’s an enormous job, and she handles it with skill, professionalism and creativity,” he said. “Amy is the face of our company and the spirit behind our blog.”
Quality set Charlie’s blog apart
Marks’s humility notwithstanding, the company’s blog was singled out among “thousands” of blogs in the Feedspot index. It ranked No. 66 nationally based on the criterion of:
- Quality and consistency of posts
- Google reputation
- Google search ranking (which makes it easier for new customers to find Charlie’s)
- Influence on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites
- A thorough review by Feedspot’s editorial team
Charlie’s accepts gold medal on a red ribbon
The Feedspot team did not specify how long the vetting process took but made it clear that it was thorough and extensive.
“This is the most comprehensive list of best air conditioning blogs on the Internet, and I’m honored to have you as part of this,” they said to Charie’s.
From this point forward, Charlie’s website will feature the Feedspot gold medal and red ribbon. The award is imprinted with the words “Awarded top 100 air conditioning blog.”
“We will ‘wear’ that medal with pride,” Marks said.
Feedspot captures the essence of Charlie’s
If you read a lot of content on the web, you may already know Feedspot – or may wish to. It is an RSS reader, which, depending on the description you prefer, stands for “rich site summary” or “really simple syndication.”
Basically, Feedspot allows people to read all their favorite websites in one place. By doing so, readers don’t have to jump from one site to another – and potentially missing out on content in the process. When you subscribe to Feedspot, it delivers content from your favorite sites as soon as it is published. You could even say it feeds you the content you want most – on the spot.
Of Charlie’s, it says:
- “Charlie Marks started Charlie’s Tropic Heating & Air Conditioning in 1988, building a reputation for friendly, professional service and expertise while providing area families with comfort solutions that fit not only their life but also their pocketbook.”
This is a description Charlie’s is more than happy to live with – just like the national recognition.
